After another song was allegedly copied from a foreign artist, Shaira Moro has been tagged as the Queen of Copyright
SHAIRA MORO – The Queen of Bangsamoro Pop was tagged as the Queen of Copyright after another one of her songs was said to be copied from a foreign artist.
Ever since she rose to prominence as the Queen of Bangsamoro Pop, Shaira Moro has increasingly found herself associated with copyright issues, especially after accusations surfaced that one of her songs closely resembled a track by a foreign artist.
On social media, many users couldn’t help but notice the similarities between Shaira’s song “Babaero” and a song by Indonesian singer Siti Badriah called “Lagi Shantik.” This resemblance, reminiscent of previous controversies surrounding Shaira’s music, caught the attention of several online users.
Some internet users even reached out to Siti Badriah through social media to inform her about Shaira’s song, echoing similar instances where fans collaborated to report potentially copied songs to their original creators.
A few of Shaira’s songs have already been taken down from online platforms, prompting suggestions from fans as she prepared to release her upcoming album. Many advised Shaira to assemble a more competent team to avoid future legal issues. Experts also emphasized the need for Shaira to exercise greater care in light of her growing fame in the industry.
To recall, Shaira Moro made headlines after her song “Selos” reached Australian singer Lenka. As a result, the record label producing her songs decided to take down her hit single. Aside from the said song, she was accused of copyright infringement again by the Indonesian band Papinka for the song “Masih Mencitainya.”
“I hope musicians respect other people’s properties, their music covers are fine, but you must ask permission to use any song melody before uploading it, credit is not given if you earn income from the song, it’s theft,” the band reportedly said.
