Niña Jose Speaks Up On Viral “Mabahong Mic” Issue

Here’s Mayor Niña Jose Reaction To Her Viral “Mabahong Mic” Issue

NIÑA JOSE – Actress-turned-politician Niña Jose-Quiambao took to social media to react to her viral “mabahong mic” issue.

Bayambang, Pangasinan Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao responded after her act of stopping midway through her speech gained attention due to the unpleasant odor emitted by the microphone she was using. The former actress, now a politician, delivered her speech during the flag ceremony in Balon, Bayambang, on March 18, 2024.

In a widely circulated online video clip, Niña requested her security to replace her microphone. She remarked, still using the mic and audible to all attendees, “There’s bad breath here. Sorry, mabaho talaga yung mic. I can’t… mabaho… it’s amoy maasim. I don’t wanna have halitosis [bad breath], you know.”

Niña Jose defended herself, claiming that the video was manipulated to ridicule her. She shared the complete footage of her speech last Sunday, March 24. In the video, Niña can be seen pausing in the middle of her speech and mentioning the “mabahong mic.”

Starting her post, “Narito ang buong video ng aking speech noong nakaraang Flag Ceremony, which was maliciously edited by someone upang gawing katatawanan at siraan ang aking pagkatao.”

Niña Jose also provided her explanations. First, addressing criticism that she allegedly disparaged the person who used the microphone before her.

She also defended herself against the backlash her statement received.

“If ever I have to apologize, I will apologize to the microphone because nasabi kong mabaho na ito.”

The mayor also openly addressed the people she felt judged her.

“Alam nyo ba, minsan, iniisip ko ‘yung kasabihang ‘Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.’

Niña’s concluding message, “Let’s spread love and understanding instead of judgment and hate. #NoToJudgment #SpreadLove”
