There are two (2) types of holidays that are widely-observed in the Philippines — the regular holidays and the special non-working days. The regular holidays are constant holidays every year and they are marked red in the calendar.

During regular holidays, there is a suspension of classes in schools and work in both public and private offices and agencies. In the case of some private businesses that have to continue their operation even on a regular holiday, the employees who report to duty are entitled to the Holiday Pay Rules in the Philippines.
