MARC PINGRIS – Former Philippine Basketball Association star player Marc Pingris released a statement on alleged romance with Kim Rodriguez.
Marc Pingris, who married Danica Sotto, the daughter of veteran actors Vic Sotto and Dina Bonnevie, in 2007, has three children: Jean Michel, Anielle Micaela, and Jean-Luc. On Thursday, March 28, Pingris denied rumors linking him to ABS-CBN actress Kim Rodriguez, despite social media photos suggesting otherwise.
In a statement posted in Filipino on his social media, Pingris clarified that there is no truth to the rumors about him and Ms. Kim Rodriguez.
Marc Pingris emphasized that there is no romantic involvement between them, contrary to what others are saying. He wrote, “Walang katotohanan ang mga lumalabas na balita tungkol sa amin ni Ms. Kim Rodriguez. Walang namamagitan sa aming dalawa gaya ng sinasabi ng ibang tao.”
Being part of the esteemed 40 Greatest PBA Players and a previous mainstay of Gilas Pilipinas, Pingris is currently active in the Pilipinas Super League, playing for Biñan Tatak Gel Beast. He engages in domestic exhibition matches alongside his team and also represents internationally with PBA Motoclub, consisting of former PBA players. Pingris specified that he encountered Ms. Kim at a basketball event and another function where she acted as their team muse.
“Nakasama ko po si Ms. Kim sa isang basketball event noong naging muse siya ng team namin.”
Concerned about his family’s well-being, Pingris urged respect to protect his children from undue influence. He assured, “My family and I are okay. Let us refrain from spreading news that are not true.”
He concluded his post with a request, “Humihingi po kami ng respeto at para hindi madamay ang mga anak namin ni Danica. Salamat po at God bless po.”
