Wedding at the disco bathroom of a gas station
UNIQUE WEDDING – A couple chose the disco bathroom of a gas station at the HOP Shops convenience store in Kentucky as their wedding venue.
Tiana and Logen Abney, both residents of Verona, Kentucky, got married on February 14, 2024, in a unique ceremony held in the men’s bathroom of the HOP Shops convenience store in Kentucky. Tiana, the 23-year-old bride, expressed her desire for a different kind of wedding, wanting something memorable and fun to share with their future children.
“I wanted something a little different. Didn’t want to just get married in a typical chapel, or you know, go to the church. I wanted something fun to tell my kids. Something fun. A good experience,” she said.
She chose the HOP Shops convenience store because of its distinctive “disco bathroom,” which became viral in 2023 due to its festive lights and music activated by a big red button. Logen, upon learning about the venue choice, was supportive, considering it “kind of cool.” The couple spent three weeks planning their wedding, and the convenience store covered all expenses, estimated at $800 or PHP 44,673.20. The store also provided a wedding cake for the occasion.
On Valentine’s Day, Tiana wore a white princess gown while Logen sported a suit and tie paired with sneakers as they walked down the aisle of the HOP Shops. They exchanged vows in front of their families, friends, coworkers, and store customers.
An employee of HOP Shops officiated the wedding, and the restroom was off-limits to customers for two hours to accommodate the ceremony. After sealing their marriage with a kiss, Tiana and Logen shared their first dance to Randy Travis’s “Forever and Ever, Amen,” with the disco lights adding to the festive atmosphere. For Logen, the most important part of the occasion was marrying the love of his life, not the unconventional venue.
