The necklace worn by Marian Rivera in Dyesebel was sold to Boss Toyo
PINOY PAWNSTARS – The necklace used by Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera in her iconic role as “Dyesebel,” which aired on GMA Network in 2008, was sold to Boss Toyo.
The sellers, who came from Caloocan City, highly valued the necklace and made the trip to Boss Toyo with great enthusiasm.
“Dyesebel” originated from a comic created by Mars Ravelo, which was later adapted into both a film and a television series. In television, aside from Marian, the role has also been portrayed by Anne Curtis on ABS-CBN.
According to the sellers, their grandfather used to work for ABS-CBN but later moved to GMA Network. Back then, it wasn’t easy for staff to take props home. However, they claimed that there was permission from the prop makers to take certain items, including Dyesebel’s necklace.
Boss Toyo even called comedian-TV host Buboy Villar to confirm his acquaintance with the sellers. They initially priced it at ₱40,000, but Boss Toyo refused. They bargained until they settled at ₱20,000. Boss Toyo’s final offer was ₱17,500, which the sellers eventually accepted.
Meanwhile, Boss Toyo is a nickname or moniker for Jayson Luzadas, who is known as the main buyer and one of the personalities featured in the Filipino reality TV show “Pinoy Pawn Stars.” In the show, Boss Toyo assesses and negotiates deals for various items brought in by sellers looking to pawn or sell their belongings. He gained popularity for his shrewd bargaining skills and his interactions with sellers on the show.
To recall, it was just recently when he bought the coffin used by Dingdong Dantes in the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, Rewind, which is one of the official entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024. The casket was sold to the antique collector for a whopping two hundred fifty thousand pesos (P250K).
