After being criticized due to his appearance on camera, the “gwapulis” featured on KMJS speaks out
GWAPULIS – A police officer who appeared on the GMA Network magazine show “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” responded to criticisms from certain netizens who alleged that his photos on the program were misleading.
Patrolman Julius Rael’s journey of self-improvement was featured on the show on February 11. Rael shared that he had faced ridicule in the past due to his appearance, but through his determination to enhance himself, he achieved his goal of looking better. “Sinabihan ako ng mga classmate ko na hindi daw ako magkaka-girlfriend dahil wala daw magkakagusto sa akin dahil sa itsura ko,” the Gwapulis said.
Although Rael received mostly positive feedback on social media, some netizens claimed that his photos had been edited to enhance his appearance. One netizen even created a meme comparing Rael’s appearance in his photos to his appearance during the KMJS interview.
Rael then strongly responded to the mentioned netizen. “Sorry for not meeting up to your standards, Inaki Marie Ofqueria. One thing is for sure, money can’t fix a mean and insecure heart,” he said.
Social media users subsequently showed their support for Rael. “Leave him alone. wala nman ginawang masama si kuyang pulis. Gumamit lang nman sya ng filter,” a netizen said. Another netizen remarked: “Still looks the same naman kung nag lipstick at eyebrows si kuya. Tas dahil rin sa lighting.”
