Aiko Melendez on Ogie Diaz: “Layuan mo muna kaming mga nakakapit ng pagkahigpit higpit sa aming mga relasyon.”
AIKO MELENDEZ – The actress-politician jokingly asked her manager Ogie Diaz to stay away from her for a while.
Ogie Diaz, whose real name is Roger Díaz Pandaan, is a comedian, actor, entertainment reporter, and talent manager. He gained fame as “Pekto,” his character on the long-running TV show Palibhasa Lalake. Díaz is the sixth child among eight siblings. His life took a tragic turn when his father was killed during a robbery in 1986, forcing Díaz to forgo higher education and pursue a career in show business instead.
In 1987, Díaz started as an assistant to Cristy Fermin at Mariposa Publications, eventually becoming a writer in the early ’90s. His writing stint provided financial support for his family. Later, he ventured into talent management and acting at ABS-CBN, handling notable artists like Liza Soberano and Vice Ganda. Díaz is in a relationship with Georgette del Rosario, with whom he has five children. They are openly part of the LGBT community.
Netizens have dubbed Ogie as the “Patron ng mga Hiwalayan” or alternatively, the “Patron Saint ng Chismis.” This might be due to the showbiz breakups that he rumored eventually turned out to be true: from Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla or KathNiel, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim or KimXi, married couple Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones, and lastly, Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque.
As for Aiko, she has been in a long-term relationship with Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun, which may explain her reaction towards Ogie. In a Facebook post, she jokingly asked her manager to stay away for a while.
“Mader Ogie Diaz kahit manager kita please layuan mo muna kaming mga nakakapit ng pagkahigpit higpit sa aming mga relasyon,” Aiko quipped to her manager. “Awit sabay sabay sino dito ang nakakapit pa?” she added.
