  • four (4) to five (5) pounds chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 4 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 3 bay leaves
  • steamed rice (for serving)

According to the recipe from Food Network, the cooking of chicken adobo involves only two (2) steps which may take two (2) hours to get that delicious Pinoy dish. Ten (10) minutes will be allotted for the preparation time, a one-hour inactive time for waiting, and 50 minutes of cooking the food.

  • Step 1 — Add the chicken thighs, soy sauce, vinegar, bay leaves, and peppercorns in a large pot. Cover it and marinate the chicken inside the refrigerator for 1-3 hours.
  • Step 2 — Take the pot out from the refrigerator and put it on top of the stove to start cooking on high heat. Bring the chicken to boil. Lower the heat, cover the pot and let it simmer for half an hour. Stir it occassionally. Based on the recipe, remove the cover of the pot and simmer it until the sauce is reduced and thickened and the chicken is tender. It may take around 20 minutes.

Serve the delicious chicken adobo with steamed rice. Enjoy your meal!
