REQUIREMENTS FOR DSWD EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE – Listed below are the documents needed in applying for an Educational Aid to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Undeniably, countless Filipino families are living in poverty. In these households, the food on the table remains the top priority and the monthly budget may no longer afford to send the children to school. Unfortunately, such situation can be one of the reasons that can keep a family chained in poverty. Thus, the government wants to help ensure the education of the Filipino students.
In the Philippines, one of the government agencies that launched programs to help the students is the Department of Social Welfare and Development. More popularly called DSWD, it is the office that is mainly concerned in launching programs for the welfare of the indigents and the underprivileged Filipinos.
One of the programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development is the AICS or the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations. The said program includes an Education Assistance offer for elementary, high school, and college students. The monetary assistance depends opn the year level of the student.
In applying for the offer, there are requirements for DSWD Educational Assistance that the student or parent must comply and submit to the government agency:
- valid ID
- Certificate of Enrollment or School Registration
- School ID or
- Statement of Account
- any document issued by the school that proves the registration of the student to the education institution
The DSWD clarified that all the financial assistance it extends under AICS will be received by the beneficiaries in full amounts. The government agency warned that no authorized or unauthorized person can make deductions from the assistance released to the beneficiaries.
With regards to the requirements for the DSWD Education Assistance offer, the government agency also reminds the applicants that it is not accepting fake documents. Any move of submitting fake documents may undergo a certain process to determine the corresponding penalty or action.
Under the AICS, there is also a separate list of requirements for the DSWD Medical Assistance offer as well as a different list of DSWD Funeral Assistance requirements.
