POKWANG – Here’s what the actress-comedienne said after winning the deportation case that she filed against her ex-partner, Lee O’Brian.
In a report on GMA News Online, the actress has won the deportation case she filed against her ex-partner, as the Bureau of Immigration (BI) issued a resolution ordering the deportation of Lee, whose full name is William Lee O’Brian.
Signed by all three members of the Board of Commissioners, the resolution stated Lee O’Brian’s “active involvement in the film, television programs and theatrical industry” which violated the terms and conditions of his stay in the country. Those are projects he has acted in from 2016 to 2023.
Following the victory, the actress said in a press statement that she’s focused on moving forward in life with her daughter Malia.
The comedienne went on to express her gratitude to the Lord because He listened to her prayers of justice for what happened to her and her daughter. She also said that she’s very grateful to her friends and supporters who accompanied her in this chapter of her life.
Pokwang also thanked those who helped her and her daughter, saying that she will strive to become a better mother and father to her child and she will also persevere more to provide for her family.
Her counsel, Atty. Rafael Vicente Calinisan from the Calinisan Domino & Beron Law Offices, thanked the Bureau of Immigration for “siding with the truth”.
In a statement, he said they have been consistent that Lee O’Brian must be made accountable for his actions that violate the limitations under which he was admitted into the Philippines as a non-immigrant.
“Sa totoo lang, ang laban na ito ay laban ng Pilipino sa isang abusadong dayuhan sa ating sariling bayan,” he said. “Pinaglaban din natin dito ang kapakanan ng lahat ng kababaihang umiiyak at naghahanap ng hustisya at respeto sa kanilang sarili. Para sa inyo ito.”
