Due to Dispatcher’s Lack of Change for P200, a Passenger was Forced to Disembark from Jeepney
BACOLOD – A jeepney passenger expressed his discontent after being asked to disembark by the dispatcher because they couldn’t provide change for a 200-peso bill.
In a Facebook post, a user named Bon Bon called out the dispatcher of bus number 51 on the Alijis-Central Market route for unfair treatment. He rarely vents his frustrations online but felt it was unjust to be told to leave the jeepney simply because they couldn’t provide change for a 200-peso bill.
The netizen is upset about the unfair treatment from the dispatcher as if he hadn’t paid the fare as a passenger. Bon Bon mentioned that the driver instructed the dispatcher to find change, but ultimately, the decision was made to have the passenger disembark. In the concluding part of his post, he emphasized “Merry Christmas” in bold letters to express his dissatisfaction with the poor treatment.
Here’s the original post:
“Palihog lang ko sang inyo dispatcher sa ALIJIS-CENTRAL MARKET!!! Kis a lang ko mag rant pero daw nd q guru deserve PAPANAUGON SA JEEP KAY WALA KMU SINSILYO SA 200??? Bus # 051 lihog ko ha!! Daw matyag nyo sa pasahero nyo wala gabayad!!! Gin hambalan kalng gd sang imo driver nga pangitaan mo sinsilyo tapos ako ya papanaugon mo!! MERRY CHRISTMAS”
The post gained viral attention, eliciting mixed reactions from netizens. Some suggested filing a complaint with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), the government agency responsible for regulating land-based public transportation services. Others advised contacting the operator directly to address the issue. As of press time, the bus operator has not issued any statement regarding Bon Bon’s concern.
It’s worth noting that a similar incident occurred in Bacolod last September when a modern jeepney left a passenger despite paying her fare.
