Netizen on Coffee Shops: ” Ginawa nyo lang namang extension ng sala nyo ang establishments”
COFFEE SHOPS – The Facebook post of a netizen named Lacruiser P. Relativo has gone viral after expressing his thoughts and observations on some customers treating coffee shops as an “extension of their living rooms.”
The netizen, a maritime practitioner, criticized the habit of some people placing their bags or belongings on tables and chairs, making it difficult for other customers to use them. He compared this behavior to situations in covered courts and parking areas where people reserve space even when their vehicles are not present.
On the other hand, he acknowledged that studying in a coffee shop is not a bad thing, but it shouldn’t be treated as if it’s part of one’s own home. “I am not against studying in coffee shops pero I am alive against people na makakapal ang mukha! Hindi ibig sabihin na bumili kayo ng 150 or so purchase gawin nyo nang dormitory or sala ang establishment,” he said.
He added, “You are consuming their resources more than the caffeinated drinks. At kanina may nakita akong dalawang naglalaro ng ML! Kami pa ang mag adjust ng boses namin kasi ‘study mode’ kayo. Well, that is a basic etiquette we possess that clearly you do not have.”
Lacruiser expresses full empathy for the pressure resulting from school deadlines. He kindly requests the opportunity to enjoy a 30-minute face-to-face chat with friends using the thousand-peso purchase, emphasizing that it’s not about arriving first but about acknowledging if one has overstayed.
Furthermore, Lacruiser clarifies that his post is not meant to create enemies, as he already has enough. Instead, its purpose is to raise awareness and encourage consideration so that all customers from diverse backgrounds can have a positive experience in coffee shops. His post garnered various reactions and comments from netizens.
Meanwhile, a foreign vlogger previously made a buzz online after expressing his thoughts on the behavior of Filipino customers when it comes to hanging out in coffee shops.
