Mike Tan: “‘Yung panganay ko, every time na nakikita niya ako sa TV, umiiyak siya”
MIKE TAN – The Kapuso actor shared that his daughter is not yet ready to watch his shows.
The actor is set to star in the upcoming GMA Telebabad series titled “Love. Die. Repeat” with Xian Lim and Jennylyn Mercado. Other cast members include Ina Feleo, Malou De Guzman, Valeen Montenegro, and Nonie Buencamino, among others.
Mike appeared on Tuesday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where he opened up about his daughter.
In an interview with talk show host Boy Abunda, the actor said that his daughter is not yet ready to watch his shows because she cries every time she sees him on television. He also shared that he had to explain to her that he was just pretending to be someone else when he was acting.
“‘Yung panganay ko, every time na nakikita niya ako sa TV, umiiyak siya,” the actor said. “Siguro nakikita niya kasi ako may kasamang ibang babae, or minsan nakikita niya ako malungkot, galit, o umiiyak dun sa scene, kaya ayaw niya.”
According to him, it’s challenging for him and his wife to explain his work as an actor to their children.
The Kapuso actor, who got married to his non-showbiz wife in 2018, also said that their children know about “pretend play” and so what he always says to his children is “Dad is just acting, it’s like I’m just pretending to be someone else.”

“Love. Die. Repeat”, which will premiere in 2024, started taping last 2021 but the taping had to be postponed when Jennylyn Mercado found out that she was pregnant with her first child at that time. Taping resumed earlier this year.
The series is Jennylyn Mercado and Xian Lim’s first project together.
