Diana Zubiri on her estranged father: “May pain kasi hindi ko siya nakilala kasi hindi kami naging buo”
DIANA ZUBIRI – The actress and content creator got emotional as she opened up about her estranged father.
The actress appeared on Friday’s episode on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where she talked about her father, who passed away just this year.
Diana Zubiri said in an interview with talk show host Boy Abunda that she doesn’t remember much because he and her mother separated when she was young.
She also said that the only thing she remembers is that her father suddenly appeared again when she started entering showbiz, adding that her parents got back together for a while and then her father just disappeared again.
The actress also said that she and her father reconciled in 2010 but they didn’t have a good relationship because they lived far apart. Despite this, she said that she didn’t hold a grudge against her father even though their relationship was not perfect.
According to her, she was just trying to figure out what was the reason why her father left them before.
The actress also said that she’s sure her father wanted to make up for his family but he just didn’t get the chance. She turned emotional when she talked about her children.
“Naisip ko pa lang na hindi ko makita ‘yung mga anak ko, parang hindi ko kaya,” she said. “Kapag may nababalitaan ako or sa experience ko na iniwan ako ng daddy ko, parang kung gagawin ko ‘yun sa mga anak ko, iisipin ko pa lang, naiiyak na ako.”
Diana Zubiri and her husband Andy Smith got married in 2015 and have three children. She and her family decided to return to the Philippines after living in Australia for 2 years.
