Piolo Pascual: “I guess, in time. Siguro ‘pag tuli na ‘ko. Joke lang. “
PIOLO PASCUAL – Here’s what the Kapamilya actor said when he was asked if he has plans to have his own family.
The actor played as Fr. Juan Severino Mallari in his debut horror film “Mallari” – a film that is included in the official entries for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
This year’s MMFF have a total of 10 movie entries in competition instead of the usual 8 film entries.
The actor jokingly said at a press conference held in Kao Manila last October 19 that he will have his own family when he’s circumcised.
“I guess, in time. Siguro ‘pag tuli na ‘ko. Joke lang. Kapag malaki na po ako. Now kasi bata pa ko e,” Piolo said, laughing. “Most promising ako ‘di ba sa showbiz? ‘Pag nag-settle na ‘ko. Ang dami ko kasing labada e. Wala pa talaga kong time para diyan.”
According to the Kapamilya actor, his son Iñigo is enough for him and he has a platform that he can practice his passion. He added that at his age, he’s not in any rush because there’s always a time for it.
The actor hopes that the whole world will be ready if he already found the one for him.
In the same interview, Piolo revealed that he first refused to play as the lead character in the upcoming movie. He also admitted to not knowing Mallari was a real person and initially declining the project.
But the same day he rejected the project, the actor said he and fellow actors Kyle Echarri and Joao Constancia were discussing American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and wondered if there was a Filipino serial killer.
“Joao Googled it and said there was a Severino Mallari,” Piolo said. “That was the same day, I stood up, ‘Oh, shoot, it’s a real guy. It’s a real person.’ It gave me a goosebumps. Sabi ko, ‘Lord sign ba to?’”
He then called up his manager to set a meeting with the producers.
