This step-by-step tutorial may vary depending on the platform you’re using. Here’s how to protect yourself from spammers on the platform:
- If you’re using a mobile device, you need to open the app on your phone and tap “More”. After that, you need to tap “Settings”, select “Privacy”, and choose “Auto spam check” in order to turn on the automatic spam-check on the app.
- If you’re using a computer, you need to open the software application on your computer and click on your profile photo next to the Search field. The next step is to click “Settings”, choose “Privacy and security”, and turn on the switch in the “Spam protection” section.
You will then be advised whether or not spam was detected once the scan is complete.
Also, you can manually check messages sent from existing contacts by long-tapping (on app) or right-clicking (on computer) on the message and selecting “Check for spam”. The sender will not be notified that you ran a spam check on their message.
