Despite battling pneumonia, Gary Valenciano continued with his concert tour in North America
GARY VALENCIANO – Mr. Pure Energy continued with his concert tour in North America despite battling pneumonia. Three out of eight shows of the “Gary V Reenergized 2023 Live!” tour took place while he was suffering from pneumonia, but he pushed through and gave his best performances.
Gary’s wife Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano revealed that just a day before they were set to fly, Gary was coughing severely due to his illness. They contacted their pulmonologist, who prescribed steroids. After three days, his voice returned, and he was ready to perform, even though he couldn’t rehearse much.
The concert tour was held in various locations in Canada and the United States, including Suquamish, Washington; Brooks, California; Portland, Oregon; Calgary, Alberta; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Toronto, Ontario; and Temecula, California. The tour included three shows in Canada and five in the USA.
What’s remarkable is that both Angeli and Gary’s sister, Gina Valenciano-Martinez, fell ill as well. Angeli had COVID, while Gina and Gary had pneumonia. However, Gary’s pneumonia was non-infectious, allowing him to continue with the shows.
Some members of the audience were aware of Gary’s condition in California, but not in Suquamish. The audience in California was moved to tears when they learned that Gary had been unwell but still gave his all during the performance. Each concert lasted for two hours, with Gary performing continuously.
Despite the challenges and his battle with pneumonia, Gary Valenciano expressed that he found inspiration in the audience’s reactions and faces. He appreciated their support and was particularly touched by his fans’ enthusiasm, especially in places like Canada, where they had been waiting for him since 2020. The audience in Toronto gave a standing ovation after only the second song, highlighting their eagerness to see him perform.
According to PEP.ph, Gary V’s determination and love for his fans kept him going, and he enjoyed riding the wave of success while his body allowed him to do so. He remains committed to his craft and entertaining his supporters, even in the face of health challenges.
