The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) will take place on October 30, 2023 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, according to a report on GMA News Online. With this, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) raised several protocols that voters like you must be mindful of in order to ensure a peaceful election.
As a voter, it is important that you’re fully aware of the do’s and don’ts on election day.
Here’s what you should do on election day:
- Know your voting center and precinct number
- Use the folder to cover your ballot when voting
- Avoid erasures and leaving unnecessary marks on the ballot
- Submit the ballot and leave the voting precinct after voting
Keep in mind that the poll body has recently launched its Precinct Finder where you can easily know your precinct number and polling precinct by providing the requested information on the site.
Here’s what you should not do on election day:
- Do not vote more than once
- Do not be a substitute voter for other voters.
- Do not destroy or tear the ballot.
- Do not take a photo or a selfie with the ballot.
Also, do not hesitate to ask the precinct personnel for guidance as they’re willing to help you in case you don’t know your polling precinct and precinct number.
October 28, 2023 (Saturday) is the day before the eve of the election and also the last day of the 10-day campaign. Campaigning and posting campaign propaganda will no longer be allowed on that day.
In addition, the poll body will impose a liquor ban from October 29 to October 30 under Comelec Resolution 10924.
