Missing senior high school student of Ateneo has returned home
CHRISTIAN XAVIER ALGENIO – An Ateneo de Manila senior high school student, who was reported missing on October 23 returned home on Tuesday evening, as confirmed by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
QCPD reported that they received information and verified that the 16-year-old student reappeared at his home around 10 p.m. Inquirer.net has inquired whether investigators have received any explanation regarding Algenio’s whereabouts and the reason for his over-a-day disappearance, but there has been no response as of the time of posting.
According to the police records, Algenio was last seen around 4:30 p.m. on Monday at UP Town Center, where he was supposed to meet his sister at 6 p.m. After being unable to contact Algenio, his parents sought assistance from the Anonas Police Station around 11:30 p.m., leading to the review of CCTV camera footage in the student’s school, nearby areas, and roads leading to UP Town Center.
This review led police to a barber shop where Algenio had entered. Around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, his parents officially reported him as missing, prompting a general alarm in all stations of the National Capital Region Police Office.
QCPD formed a tracker team, which tracked the student’s SIM card location to Calumpang and La Trinidad Pension House on V. Gomez St. in Barangay San Roque, Marikina City, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. However, he was not found in any of these areas but later returned home in the evening.
Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 4A announced on Monday that they have identified a person of interest in the case of the missing beauty queen Catherine Camilon. Camilon was reported missing on October 12, 2023, and she was declared a “missing person” by the Batangas Police Provincial Office on October 19, 2023. Catherine, 26, is a candidate for Miss Grand Philippines 2023 and a batchmate of Herlene Budol. She is also a public school teacher in Tuy, Batangas.
