Angel Guardian: “I don’t ever want to start saying I’m Sang’gre Deia without acknowledging the real reason why the name Deia exists”
ANGEL GUARDIAN – The actress revealed that Iza Calzado allowed her to use her daughter Deia’s name for her character in “Sang’gre”.
Iza starred as “Amihan” in the widely successful Kapuso fantasy series “Encantadia” and its sequel “Etheria”.
Sharing a series of photos on her social media account, the actress revealed that the producers of the upcoming “Encantadia” spinoff had to ask permission from Iza to use her daughter’s name for her character, which Iza wholeheartedly allowed.
Angel went on to pay tribute to Iza, saying her character in the upcoming fantasy series wouldn’t be possible without Iza’s blessing.
“I don’t ever want to start saying I’m Sang’gre Deia without acknowledging the real reason why the name Deia exists,” Angel said. “To Ms. Iza, thank you so much for this very beautiful name and thank you sa pagpayag na gamitin ang pangalan ng pinaka espesyal na tao sa buhay mo — your beautiful baby, Deia Amihan.”
Angel also assured Iza that she will take good care of Deia and will also carry the name with kindness, power, and grace.
Aside from this, Angel expressed her gratitude to Iza for sharing her knowledge, compassion, and words of encouragement to her while portraying her role in the upcoming fantasy series.
The actress even recalled her favorite moments with Iza, saying that they shared an “emotional moment” while filming the horror film “Shake Rattle and Roll Extreme”. According to her, she found out that the producers had asked for Iza’s permission to use her daughter’s name.
She added that they got emotional as she saw how special Deia is to Iza and it made her realize how lucky she is to be carrying such a deeply special name.
GMA Network recently announced that Angel is one of the 4 new Sang’gres with Faith Da Silva, Kelvin Miranda, and Bianca Umali earlier this month. The details of the additional cast and storyline for the fantasy series are yet to be disclosed.
Inquirer reported that Angel’s role in the fantasy series is said to be keeper of the “brilyante ng hangin”, which is a superpower held by Iza Calzado in 2005 and Kylie Padilla in 2016.
