Ricky Lee reacts after being “disrespected” by the marshal of Pia Wurtzbach
Ricky Lee – The National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts and an award-winning writer, has spoken and shared his side of the story regarding the incident where he was blocked by the marshal of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach at the recent Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
In a video, it’s clear that Ricky was blocked by the marshal after he shook hands and greeted Pia, who was also at MIBF for the launch of her book, “Queen of the Universe: A Novel.” It can be seen that Pia extended her hand to Ricky, but the marshal blocked his way.
According to netizens, the guard did not recognize the National Artist. In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Ricky defended Pia and mentioned that even before the incident happened, he and Pia had lunch together and exchanged their respective books.
Actually, Ricky also attended a program where Pia was going to speak. He was acknowledged by the host and the audience, who paid their respects to him. Regarding the marshal, Ricky expressed that regardless of whether someone is a senior citizen or not, young or old, famous or ordinary, they should not have been treated that way.
