The budget meal of a netizen hooked in checking out from an online shopping app elicits reactions
BUDGET MEAL – A netizen turned to social media to share his meal after getting engrossed in checking out from an online shopping app.
In his post, John Raven C. Ramos showed a picture of his meal, which was just a bunch of marshmallows. But what made it funny was his caption. He said, “Wala ng budget kaka checkout buti na lang may natira pang marshmallow pang ulam.” This made people laugh and feel for him at the same time.
People who saw his post had different reactions. Some said they might do the same thing if they were really low on money. Others thought it was like having both a meal and dessert in one. And some joked about how tempting online discounts can be, leading to situations like this.
In an interview with Balita, Ramos explained why he ended up having marshmallows for dinner. “Kakain na dapat po ako then may 2 bagay akong naisip which is yung promo po ni Shopee na 70% voucher discount and ‘yung uulamin ko sana,” he said.
Interestingly, Ramos prefers shopping online instead of going to physical stores. He finds it more convenient because he doesn’t have to stand in long lines, spend money on gas, or even go out to eat after shopping. He got into online shopping during the pandemic and even became a Brand Ambassador for Lazada’s buyer community group, Lazada Peers PH. In this role, he helps others save money, learn about app features, and get discounts, sometimes working with brands.
Ramos has a message for fellow online sellers: Keep doing what makes you happy. For him, online shopping has made life easier and less stressful. He likes the extra savings and big discounts he can get through online shopping apps, especially during special sales like the ongoing 9.9 sale.
At the time of writing this article, Ramos’s post got 110k likes and was shared 22k times, showing how much people related to his funny and relatable story in the online community.
