In the Philippines, the implementation of the rules in driving and traffic is spearheaded by the Land Transportation Office, more popularly called LTO. It is the government agency where you can apply for a driver’s license which includes both non-professional and professional driver’s license.

For first-time applicants of driver’s license, you need to obtain a Student Permit first. It is also applied for at the Land Transportation Office (LTO). It is a requirement before you proceed to applying for an official license to the state institution.

Car registrations are also done at the Land Transportation Office. The registration must be renewed every year. The renewal requires the checking of the vehicles’ safety before granting renewal.
