Notes is one of the features available on Instagram. However, this feature is only available to selected users and is also available on Instagram app for iPhone and Android devices.

It is a feature that gives you a personal space to share an update as a short post with certain people who can reply to a post as a message on Instagram.

Here’s a step-by-step process on how to share a note with others on this platform:

First, you need to open your Instagram app and tap the Message icon in the top right of Feed. The next step is to tap your profile photo at the top of the Chats list and then tap “Share a thought…”.

From there, you can enter a note of up to 60 characters, mention someone in your note if the user allows it, and/or add music to your note by tapping the Music icon. Keep in mind that music notes are not available in all countries as of this writing.

Next, you need to select to share your note with either “Followers you follow back” or your “Close Friends”. The last step is to tap “Share” in the top right in order to share your own note.

Once done, you and others will see your own note at the top of the Chats list for up to 24 hours and your note will no longer be visible on the platform after that. When someone replies to your Instagram note, his/her reply will then start a chat between you and that user only.
