Herlene Budol: “Sinabi ko po na ‘I’m signing off’ kasi wala pa po akong Miss Philippines Tourism na ipagdadayo ko po.”
HERLENE BUDOL – The Miss Philippines Tourism 2023 titleholder recently shared that she’s not signing off from joining beauty pageants yet.
It can be recalled that Herlene announced through her vlog shown on her YouTube channel on July 27 that she will no longer join beauty pageants.
At that time, the actress-vlogger said she realized that she’s apparently not capable of achieving her dream to represent the Philippines in international beauty pageant competitions.
The “Magandang Dilag” star appeared in an episode of “Dapat Alam Mo!” posted on GMA Network’s YouTube channel last August 3 where she can be seen taking the lie detector test and answered questions from TV hosts Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez.
In an interview, she was asked if she will join beauty pageants or “end of the road na ba ang pagiging beaucon-era mo?” and answered “oo ata” but she changed her answer to “maybe”. The lie detector test came out that Herlene is telling the truth.
She was also asked if her goodbye on YouTube wasn’t a real goodbye. Herlene then clarified that her earlier declaration was made after she initially thought she wouldn’t be representing the country at a global beauty pageant competition.
According to her, she said she was “signing off” because there’s no Miss Philippines Tourism that she would join and there’s no other franchise for her pageant title. She shared that she will still join an international pageant, adding that she would take a rest and also improve her skills.
“Focus muna ako sa kung anong meron ako ngayon. [M]agpapatalino po ako at tsaka magpe-pray,” she said.
Herlene didn’t disclose which international beauty pageant she would compete in during the interview with Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez.
