Student council of Colegio de Sta. Rita calls out “malicious posts”

COLEGIO DE STA. RITA – The student council has issued a statement calling out “malicious posts” spreading online about “creepy” images captured during the fire incident.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Augustinian Recollect Student Crusaders – CSR Chapter warned everyone to be mindful of the “malicious posts” circulating online.

The student council posted two photos; one featuring a group inside the chapel alongside the statue of St. Rita located to the right, and the second image depicting the fire that consumed the chapel, revealing a shadowy figure positioned close to the window.

“It is the statue of St. Rita, which had been located inside the school’s chapel for many years already,” the group explained. “We urge you all to be wary of any misinformation and spread awareness. We do not want our school to be aligned with malice or superstition. Nonetheless, amidst all the fiery chaos, St. Rita still emerges triumphantly, our Patron Saint of Impossible Cases,” they added.

Meanwhile, on the evening of Monday, August 14, 2023, a fire engulfed Colegio de Sta. Rita, a private school situated in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
