Social media personality Xian Gaza throws shade at the new logo of PAGCOR
XIAN GAZA – The social media personality threw a shade at the new logo of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation or PAGCOR.
PAGCOR, a government-owned and controlled corporation that regulates and operates various types of gambling activities in the country, has been making a buzz online following the recent unveiling of its new logo. It happened on Tuesday, July 11, during its 40th-anniversary celebration.
The event was graced by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez, among other government officials. Alejandro H. Tengco, the Chairman and CEO of PAGCOR, had the honor of presenting the logo to the esteemed guests.
Tengco explained the concept behind the new PAGCOR logo, stating that it incorporates the element of fire, symbolizing energy, inspiration, passion, and transformation. The flame depicted in the logo represents the spark that ignites change and propels progress. Additionally, the logo portrays a beacon, which embodies guidance, leadership, and direction. It serves as a guiding light to help individuals find their path.
However, the new logo faced scrutiny and criticism, with some questioning its design and the alleged budget spent on its creation. Allegedly, the quotation for the logo design amounted to a total contract price of P3,035,714.28.
Meanwhile, social media personality Xian Gaza took to Facebook wherein he threw shade at the new logo of PAGCO worth more than three million pesos. On FB, he updated his display picture with the logo of his online casino business, Casinyeam.
His post was accompanied by the caption: “Buti na lang 5K lang binayad ko sa casinyeam.com logo last year pero 111 million pesos na ang kinita in 7 months.” In the comment section, he noted: “GRABE NAMAN YUNG 3M PARA SA BASURA”.
