New logo design of PAGCOR allegedly worth P3M
PAGCOR – The new logo of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation is allegedly worth three million pesos (P3M).
On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, introduced its newest logo as part of its 40th-anniversary celebration. The unveiling of the logo was attended by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Alejandro H. Tengco, the Chairman and CEO of PAGCOR, was the one who presented the logo to the government officials.
“The new PAGCOR logo incorporates the element of fire associated with energy, inspiration, passion, and transformation. It symbolizes the flame that ignites change and drives progress,” Tengco said. “The logo likewise reflects a beacon which symbolizes guidance, leadership, and direction. It represents a guiding light that helps people find their way,” he added.
Apparently, the newest logo was put under scrutiny. Some questioned its design as well as the budget allegedly spent to come up with the new logo.
On Facebook, a letter addressed to Mr. Francisco D. Doplon for the procurement of the new logo design has gone viral. The letter stated that the quotation for the project has a total contract price of Three Million Thirty-five Thousand Seven Hundred Fourteen Pesos and 28/100. It was signed by Victor Paul E. Mallillin, whose designation is Special Assistant to the President and Chief Operating Officer.
As of press time, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation has yet to issue any statement regarding questions and allegations about its newest logo.
