Most people in the Philippines who are working or have worked in the government or the public sector are members of the Government Service Insurance System. This state-run social insurance agency is popularly called GSIS.

During times of necessity, the members of the Government Service Insurance System may turn the benefits and loans offered by the state agency. It is important to ensure an updated and active account to qualify for the loans and benefits offered for members.

If you want to maintain your qualification to these benefits and loan opportunities provided by the state-run social insurance institution, it is important to post your monthly contributions regularly. The contribution is also referred to as monthly savings.

One of the loans that GSIS members may be eligible to apply for is the Enhanced Conso-Loan Plus. This loan offer is also referred as a cash loan and it was crafted not only to address the financial needs of members but also to help them get away from multiple interests.

Under the said GSIS loan offer, the existing loans of the members such as the following loans will be consolidated in a single loan waivering the penalty charges:

  • Enhanced Salary Loan
  • Emergency Loan Assistance
  • Summer One-Month Salary Loan

The allowed borrowing amounts under the GSIS Enhanced Conso-Loan Plus depends on the total contributions posted by the member-borrower. It is open for those who have posted at least 25 monthly contributions in their accounts.

Under the GSIS Enhanced Conso-Loan Plus, members who have a 40-month savings may borrow an equivalent of four (4) months of their Basic Monthly Salary (BMS).

Aside from this loan offer, the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) also offers a GSIS Calamity Loan that members may apply for in times of crisis due to natural disasters.
