Graduate Student Wears Dad’s Delivery Rider Uniform During a Graduation Party

During a graduation party, a graduate student wore the delivery rider uniform of his father

JUAN CARLOS ORIANO – A 23-year-old graduate made waves at his graduation party when he decided to wear his father’s delivery rider uniform.

Juan, hailing from Tondo, successfully completed his Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation at the Maritime Academy of the Asia and the Pacific in Mariveles, Bataan. During his academic journey, he had been an active student leader and a scholar, even in high school.

Following the graduation ceremony, the graduates participated in a tradition called the Last Mess, where they could wear any costume of their choice. Juan explained that this event marked their final meal as cadets, allowing them the freedom to wear anything they desired after a life of strict uniform adherence.

Originally planning to wear a Barong Tagalog to symbolize his political aspirations, Juan changed his mind upon seeing his father, who arrived home exhausted while wearing his driver’s uniform. Inspired to pay tribute to his father, a hardworking delivery rider, Juan decided to impersonate him at the graduation celebration.

Donning the delivery rider uniform, Juan stood out among his peers, who playfully teased him about their orders. Unaware of the story behind his choice of attire, they shared in a meal without understanding the significance of his decision. It was through a Facebook post that Juan revealed his motive, garnering astonishment from his classmates who initially thought he was merely capitalizing on the trending topic of delivery riders.

Proudly acknowledging his father’s occupation as a driver, Juan emphasized that he had never been ashamed of his parents’ work. With his father serving as a major influence in his life, Juan admired his leadership qualities within the family. Currently preparing for two board exams, Juan looks forward to a promising future.
