David Licauco: “First sentence ko sa kanya, sabi ko …”
DAVID LICAUCO – The Kapuso actor recently looked back on the first words he said to his fellow Kapuso star, actress Barbie Forteza.
Following their successful love team in the Kapuso fantasy series “Maria Clara at Ibarra”, Barbie Forteza and David Licauco are set to star in the remake of the “Maging Sino Ka Man” series.
David appeared on the latest YouTube vlog of actress-vlogger Bea Alonzo where he took the legit lie detector challenge.
In an interview, David recalled the first sentence he said to Barbie.
“First sentence ko sa kanya, sabi ko ‘Uy, Barbie, uhm, breadwinner ka ba?” he recalled while giggling. “Ang labo naman din talaga, ‘di ba?”
According to the Kapuso actor, he gets shy whenever he approaches his fellow actors on the set. He added that he’s “overthinking stuff” and he realized that what he said to her was really weird.

The Kapuso actor, in his defense, said the sentence came out of admiration for the Kapuso actress and also made him think, “Wow, galing naman nya. Pa’no siya naging ganon?”
In the same interview, David hoped that his onscreen pairing with Barbie – also known as “BarDa” – would last as long as “KathNiel” (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla). He even expressed his admiration for Kathryn and Daniel, saying, “Nakakakilig kasi sila eh.”
The actor also said that he looks up to the “dynamic” pairing of “DonBelle” (Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano).
David admitted that while there’s pressure for “BarDa” to be “more successful” than their peers, he pointed out that it motivates him to do his best with his on-screen partnership with the actress.
It was last May when David and Barbie flew to South Korea to shoot their movie “That Kind of Love”.
