Palace Announces June 28 Holiday for Muslim Celebration
JUNE 28 HOLIDAY – The Malacañang Palace declared the 28th day of June 2023 a regular holiday in the Philippine for the Muslim celebration.
The believers of Islam celebrate at least two (2) main feasts in a year which is celebrated worldwide. One of them is Eid’l Fitr while the other is Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.
The Feast of Sacrifice is the second of the two great feasts celebrated by the Muslim people. Recently, Malacañang Palace announced June 28 of this year as a regular holiday for the celebration of the Eid’l Adha.
Based on PIA, the Eid’l Adha is a feast of sharing. In Muslim communities, the family eats the meat and distributes the rest to the poor and the needy. There is also a communal prayer at daybreak on its first day in celebration of this feast of sharing.
