Former Drug User Graduates High School, With Honors

Meet Honeylene Alindajao, a former drug user who has achieved an incredible milestone by graduating from high school

DRUG USER TO ACHIEVER – A former drug user graduated from high school with honors, ranking fourth in her class.

Honeylene Alindajao, a 27-year-old resident of Makilala, North Cotabato, considers her time in prison a “blessing” as it paved the way for her to transform her life and make better decisions. In the past, Alindajao had little concern for her two underage children, aged 6 and 9, as she was immersed in drugs and alcohol.

She admits that her live-in partner at the time and his friends influenced her negatively. Eventually, she was arrested and incarcerated on June 20, 2020, for drug selling and possession charges. During her time behind bars, Alindajao realized that as long as there is life, there is hope. She began seeking solace in her faith and turned to the Lord for guidance.

She spent two months in the detention facility of the Makilala Police Station before being given the opportunity to enter a plea bargain. While under probation, she made the decision to change her life for the sake of her children.

Alindajao enrolled in senior high school at Colegio De Maharlika. Her hard work paid off, and on June 21, 2023, she graduated, completing the Humanities and Social Sciences program. She also received honors and ranked fourth in her class.

Alindajao dreams of becoming a chef, so she plans to pursue a culinary or Hotel and Restaurant Management course to further her aspirations.
