To identify which of his namesakes has NBI hit, a netizen created a group chat
GROUP CHAT – A netizen took the initiative to create a GC in order to determine which among his namesakes has received an NBI hit.
The NBI Clearance HIT Status indicates a potential connection to criminal records or information for you or someone with the same name. During the NBI clearance application process, a search is conducted in the NBI’s criminal database to identify any derogatory records associated with your name. If the search yields a suspicious result, it is referred to as an “NBI Clearance Hit,” regardless of whether the criminal case is actually related to you or your namesake.
The NBI’s criminal database comprises records from various sources, including courts, prosecution offices, Ombudsman, Sandiganbayan, police, AFP, and others. The NBI Clearance Hit status has proven invaluable in capturing evasive criminals. However, not all applications with a hit status result in immediate imprisonment.
To determine if the criminal case is linked to you or your namesake, the NBI delays issuing the clearance and conducts a thorough investigation. Applicants with an NBI Clearance Hit status undergo a waiting period of five to ten days, during which NBI researchers meticulously examine derogatory records to establish their association. If it is proven that the derogatory records belong to a namesake, the applicant can claim the clearance without an additional fee after the waiting period.
In cases where the derogatory records are confirmed to be linked to you, the NBI will request your attendance at an “NBI Clearance Quality Control Interview” to verify your identity. Unless you are a fugitive, there is no need to worry, especially if you have been cleared of any past criminal cases.
Meanwhile, a certain Raymond Rivera took the initiative to create a group chat (GC) in order to determine which among his namesakes has received an NBI hit.
