GIGI DE LANA – The singer collapsed onstage while performing at a concert along with her band, The Gigi Vibes, in Ilocos Norte.
On Sunday morning, May 14, 2023, the singer and her band, The Gigi Vibes, were involved in a car accident. The incident occurred while they were traveling to the ‘Himala Sa Buhangin Event in Ilocos Norte’ from the ‘Sulong Aurora Event’.
While all the band members and four crew members sustained minor injuries, they were promptly treated at the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center Hospital. Gigi expressed her gratitude to the local government unit of San Fernando La Union for their assistance following the accident.
From the photos, it is evident that the van they were traveling in suffered significant damage. However, fortunately, none of the passengers in the van sustained severe injuries. The identity of the driver at the time of the crash was not disclosed, and it was confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
After receiving medical clearance from the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center Hospital, the band decided to proceed with their scheduled performance that night. According to a Twitter thread by social media personality Tita Krissy Achino, the band managed to perform four songs, including popular tracks like “Himala” and “Noypi,” as well as two songs by Kitchie Nadal.
However, the show came to an abrupt halt when Gigi collapsed on stage. The uploader of the thread mentioned that Gigi had been wearing a shoulder brace and showed signs of weakness during their second song. First-aid responders present at the event rushed to her aid while the rest of the band continued playing.
