Anjo Yllana: “Ngayon mag-best friend na kami. Sobrang naramdaman ko yung pagmamahal ni Robin.”
ANJO YLLANA – The actor-politician recently shared that he’s now “best friends” with Senator Robin Padilla.
To recall, Anjo and Robin’s riff started when the comedian made a joke to actress Carmine Villaroel — his co-star in “Palibhasa Lalaki” — about her then boyfriend Rustom Padilla. While Anjo claimed that the footage was never shown in the show, it nevertheless set things in motion, resulting in Carmina leaving the said program and the outrage of the Padilla brothers.
According to a report on Inquirer, Carmina and Rustom tied the knot but later separated. Rustom Padilla would later identify as a transwoman, using the new name BB Gandanghari.
Anjo and Robin’s relationship remained strained for years until the two crossed paths once again in the Senate.
The actor-politician said in a recent interview with showbiz personality Gorgy Rula over dzRH that he’s thankful for the opportunity to reunite with the senator, who he had a squabble with in the early 90s.

According to Anjo, he was warmly welcomed by Robin on their recent get-together. He also said that the senator encouraged him to run for senator.
“Natutuwa ako kasi nakikita niya na kaya ko, malapit ako sa tao, pero local lang ako e,” Anjo said. “Ngayon mag-best friend na kami. Sobrang naramdaman ko yung pagmamahal ni Robin. Tuwang-tuwa ako kay Senator Robin Padilla, napakabait.”
Anjo shared that he’s happy because he has mended his relationship with Padilla. He added that he’s grateful for his new job in the Senate.
