Jewel Mische: “Since showbiz wasn’t my first love, it was easy for me to quit”
JEWEL MISCHE – The former actress recently revealed the reason why she quit showbiz.
The StarStruck season 4 Ultimate Sweetheart appeared in the latest episode of “Just In” on YouTube where she spoke about her career in the show business industry.
In an interview with Paolo Contis, Jewel admitted that she never dreamed of becoming an actress and she also had doubts about accepting projects because of her conservative nature.
According to the former actress, it was her family and her mother who wanted her to become an actress at the beginning and the reason why she joined StarStruck is because she wanted to make her mother happy.
She also revealed that she has learned to love her profession even though she didn’t take acting seriously at first.
“Noong nag-start laro-laro lang. Actually hindi nga ako focused eh. Pero later on, I fell in love with it, sa craft. Na-enjoy ko na siya,” Jewel said.

To recall, it was in 2004 when Jewel has been named as the Ultimate Sweetheart in the 4th season of StarStruck. Her batchmates are Aljur Abrenica, Kris Bernal, Paulo Avelino, Rich Asuncion, Mart Escudero, and others.
Jewel starred in various Kapuso shows before she transferred to other network. She then shared that she didn’t renew when her contract with another network has ended because that was the time she met Alister.
The former actress added that it was easy for her since showbiz wasn’t her first love. She then revealed that she prayed to God about what she would do next.
“Honestly, never kong naramdaman na I fit in,” she said. “Kasi nga nagsimula din ‘yon na hindi siya talaga ‘yung pangarap ko. Tapos honestly kasi ‘yung pagiging conservative ko, ang dami kong restrictions. ‘Yun talaga ‘yon.”
