Cynthia Villar captured berating a security guard and his boss
CYNTHIA VILLAR – A video of the senator berating a private security guard and his boss for not removing barriers on a road in Las Piñas City has gone viral.
Villar is a senator who has been serving in the Senate of the Philippines since 2013. Prior to her stint in the Senate, she served as a congresswoman for the Lone District of Las Piñas City and was also the former Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary under the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
She is known for her advocacies on environmental protection, agriculture, and livelihood programs, particularly for farmers and fisherfolk. She is also the wife of former Senate President Manny Villar, who is a successful businessman and a former presidential candidate.
The senator has been making a buzz online due to a video of her wherein she can be seen allegedly berating a private security guard and his boss for not removing barriers on a road in Las Piñas City.
The senator angrily ordered the guard to remove the metal barricades blocking a section of the road, which according to a report by bilyonaryo.com, had been turned into a parking space. The video, shared on Facebook by JC Dela Cruz World, has gained 1.6 million views as of writing.
In the video, Villar can be seen grabbing the guard’s arm, prompting his boss to appeal to the senator not to harm his employee. Villar denied hurting the guard and ordered the man to leave.
“Hindi ko sinasaktan ang guard mo. Ikaw, umalis ka dito! Alam mo ako, ako ang nagtanggal ng lahat ng squatter dito. Hindi ko nga ‘to pakinabangan eh, ngayon eh, ikaw na ngayon ang masusunod,” she said. “Hindi ko sinasaktan ang guard n’yo. Bakit kaya ko bang saktan ‘yan? Ano ‘yan bakla, kaya kong saktan?” she added.
Netizens who saw the video claimed that the incident happened near Zapote River Drive, which was reportedly one of Villar’s pet projects inaugurated in 2021.
