Vatican Speaks on Pope Francis’ Confinement at Hospital

Vatican spokesperson Matteo Bruni announced that Roman Catholic chief pontiff Pope Francis was brought to Gemelli hospital.

The supreme chief of the Roman Catholic Church across the globe is the Pope – currently Pope Francis. Most of the matters involving the Pope like his medical health, the events that he will be attending, his special messages, etc. are usually made known to the public through formal announcements.

It is Vatican spokesperson Matteo Bruni who usually gives announcements regarding events concerning the Pope. Recently, he announced that the Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church was brought to a hospital in Rome.

Based on a report on Aljazeera, after his general audience at St. Peter’s Square in front of thousand of believes on Wednesday morning, Pope Francis was suppposedly scheduled to give a television interview. However, it was cancelled. The Supreme Pontiff was brought to Gemelli Hospital by an ambulance.

According to Vatican spokesperson Matteo Bruni, Pope Francis was suffering from breathing difficulties in the recent days. He was supposedly brought to the hospital in Rome for a medical check-up but his condition required confinement.

According to ANSA, an Italian news agency, Pope Francis went through a chest CT Scan. No heart problem was detected and his blood saturation levels are also fine. Prayers for his fast recovery and messages of love and support flooded for the Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church.

According to Vatican, Pope Francis is touched by the prayers and messages for him. It is still unclear as to when the 86-year-old Chief Pontiff will be discharged from the hospital. All his activities for Thursday and Friday were cancelled. There are still no details as to whether or not he will return to Vatican for the Holy Week celebrations.

  1. He should of gone to the Hospital sooner. He knew he had a problem and he thought he could take care of it himself. It is only a guess
