Ashley Ortega: “I started to love myself more, to prioritize myself.”
ASHLEY ORTEGA – The “Hearts on Ice” star recently shared how she moved on from her breakup with Lucena Mayor Mark Alcala.
To recall, it was during an interview with the King of Talk on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” when Ashley Ortega revealed that she broke up with Lucena Mayor Mark sometime late last year.
The actress is the celebrity guest in the latest episode of “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast wherein she shared how she moved on after breaking up with her former boyfriend.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas, Ashley admitted that it was “very difficult” for her to move on in the first two months because she felt physically, emotionally, and mentally alone when she started to live by herself.
While her friends and family did help her a lot, the actress shared that what really allowed her to move on from her past relationship was to “accept everything” and to welcome the pain that came with the breakup. She went on to share that she started to love herself more and to also prioritize herself as well.
“You know the pain that I had that time, I really welcomed it and embraced it. Kaya I was able to recover from that kasi inacknowledge ko talaga yung pain. And it’s okay to acknowledge your pain, it’s part of life,” Ashley said. “I started to love myself more, to prioritize myself.“

Ashley said that she’s “really happy” 8 months after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend. According to the actress, she already recovered from the breakup and she thinks she’s ready to enter into a new relationship.
While she’s unsure to call Mark a friend, the actress said that she has nothing against him and it’s hard for her to say that they’re friends because they never saw each other again and they never talked to each other after their breakup.
The “Hearts on Ice” star also said that she’s not pressuring herself to define their strange relations, if any.
