HOSTAGE-TAKING – A father held his 6-year-old youngest daughter hostage in their house in Manila.
The hostage-taking occurred after the suspect and his wife allegedly had an argument. The suspect’s wife managed to escape the house with their eldest and second child, leaving the youngest behind as she was still sleeping.
Based on the report, the incident took place in Barangay 408, Sampaloc, Manila. The hostage-taker allegedly demanded to speak with his wife and another child. In a photo sent by the suspect to his relatives, a knife was seen pointed at the child’s neck. The police were able to rescue the child.
According to the suspect’s wife, she did not expect their argument to lead to a hostage situation. The suspect allegedly claimed that he had no intention of harming his child and only wanted to talk to his wife. The police are still investigating whether the suspect will face charges from the family.
