Father surrenders ex-OFW daughter to authorities for using Maryjane
MARYJANE – A father surrendered his daughter, a former OFW, to the authorities for using the drug which is still illegal in the Philippines.
In order to prevent his daughter from being addicted to Maryjane, a father made the decision to turn over his 30-year-old daughter named Joan Realubit, who’s a former OFW or overseas Filipino worker.
Realubit is now under the custody of the Taguig City PNP. She may be seen acting strangely in the video that Radyo Bandido posted on February 13. It is thought to be the result of her long-standing use of Maryjane or Marijuana, which is still illegal in the Philippines.
Realubit’s father claimed that he had to surrender his daughter as a result of her growing aggressiveness toward others around her.
“Kaninang umaga hindi naman ganon ‘yan, matino yan.. Umalis, sabi samin ‘pa alis muna ako’ sabi ko ‘sige umalis ka’ pag-uwi [niya] sabog na,” the father said. “Nagpa-rescue na kami nitong hapon kasi inaway na kami nitong hapon, hindi na kami kilala,” he added.
The father added that he was adamant about keeping his daughter in jail. “Hirap na hirap na kami. Hindi na kami makatulog, sinasaktan na kami,” he also said.
Meanwhile, under Republic Act 9165, often known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, it is unlawful to cultivate or use cannabis or marijuana in the Philippines. Marijuana is the second most used drug in the Philippines, after shabu (methamphetamine).
