One of the products which the movement of the prices affect a lot of people is oil. An increase or decrease in the costs of oil affect thousands of people, several businesses, and many others.

Last year, there were several months when public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and private vehicle owners were left financially challenged by the high costs of oil in the country. There was a global oil problem and many businesses were also affected by it. The Philippine government released fuel vouchers to some drivers to aid them amid the high costs of fuel.

Meanwhile, the instances of oil price rollback have helped dropped the costs of oil. The Department of Energy reiterated several times that the prices of oil is always market-based.
