A public school teacher/real estate broker was arrested for extortion
PANGINGIKIL – A female public school teacher was arrested for extorting money.
Aside from being a teacher, the suspect sidelines as a real estate broker.
Jose Terry Dela Cruz, the victim, said that the suspect was introduced to him by a friend. He asked for her help to assist him with the requirements in the lot he is selling in Baliwag, Bulacan. They began their transaction in July of last year.
The victim revealed that the amount he gave to the suspect to assist him reached up to P503,000. The suspect even provided a copy of the tax receipt obtained from the bank via online chat. However, when the victim requested for the original receipt, she couldn’t present any.
Dela Cruz had doubts so he decided to go to the bank and the BIR. He confirmed that the suspect did not make any transaction at the bank and that the receipt shown is fake. He begged the suspect to return the money he gave him, but the suspect did not respond. She even demanded an additional P500,000 to cover additional taxes.
This made the victim to decide to ask the police for help. The authorities conducted an entrapment operation at a fast food chain in Barangay Bagong Nayon, Baliwag which led to her arrest.
The public school teacher allegedly admitted to the police that she had not taken care of the document but said that the money she got from the victim are being kept. The victim is determined to file charges against the suspect. She will be facing charges of swindling, estafa, robbery extortion and falsification of documents.
