Bag of red onions stolen by a lady
ONION THIEF – A lady was caught via a CCTV footage stealing a bag of red onions or “sibuyas.”
Due to the constant increase in the price of red onions in the market, the said vegetable has become a target for thieves. In a CCTV footage shared by Bombo Radyo Koronadal, a lady can be seen spying on a vegetable store in Surallah, South Cotabato.
The lady wearing a blue dress can be seen getting closer to her victim’s store. When she noticed that the store vendor had left for a while, she quickly approached her target, a bag of onions.
It can be see in the CCTV that she was looking around before taking the bag of onions worth P2,600. The lady successfully got the onion, which is why the victim immediately sought help from the authorities to find the thief.
Some netizens were saddened by what the lady did. There were also some who debated whether the lady really took an onion or an eggplant. But according to the witnesses themselves and the owner of the store, the suspect actually took onions.
Meanwhile, based on the data retrieved by the Department of Agriculture (DA)- headed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the prices of red onions continue to surge, reaching up to P720 per kilo on Wednesday, December 28 while the local white onions are currently sold at six hundred pesos per kilo.
