Herlene Budol: “Nagka-alopecia po akong malaki”
HERLENE BUDOL – The beauty queen recently spoke about having an alopecia during her stint in Binibining Pilipinas 2022.
To recall, Herlene won 1st runner-up with 7 major awards during the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 finals last July. Shortly after, the beauty queen was announced to represent the country at Miss Planet International 2022.
However, Herlene withdrew from the pageant because of “uncertainties by organizers”. Her team later revealed that the reasons for their withdrawal from the pageant include having no hotel and food for the candidates in Uganda.

Herlene revealed in an episode of “Updated with Nelson Canlas” that she had an alopecia during her stint in Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant. She even showed to Nelson Canlas the bald spot on her scalp.
She also shared that her alopecia worsened when her grandmother passed away and during her Miss Planet International 2022 journey in Uganda.
“Nagka-alopecia ako. Dati maliit lang ito kaya ngayon nagulat ako. Nadagdagan ‘yan ng Africa. Tapos ‘di ako matae. Yon pala stress,” she shared. “Tapos hindi ako nakakatulog. Hindi ako nakakatulog nang walang iniinom na [melatonin].“
According to her, she underwent treatment for alopecia and her scalp gets injected on her clinic visits.
Herlene also revealed that police with guns chased her prior to leaving Uganda. According to her, she and her team also couldn’t help but feel that they’re being followed even when their vehicle is moving at full speed at that time.
According to a report, the Miss Planet International Organization has not issued a statement regarding the issue. Meanwhile, the said pageant was rescheduled to January 2023 in Cambodia.
