Fishball sauce business of Rodriguez family
FISHBALL-SAUCE – A family business that began with only P5000 capital has grown and is earning five digits per month.
Ritchie Rodriguez and his family used the “ayuda” they received from the government for business. Now, their product is being exported across Japan, Australia, Austria, and USA. In an interview with Pera Paraan, Ritchie said that they ventured into this kind of business because their family loves fishball dipped in a delicious sauce.
“Gustung-gusto namin kumain ng fishball, pero wala nang lumalabas kasi bawal magtinda. So sabi namin, subukan natin na ialok yung fishball sauce,” he said.
From a simple Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) business, Manong’s Fishball Sauce boomed a lot because of its taste and quality. Now, they have resellers in different parts of the country as well as around the world and is earning five-digit income every month.
Because of the business, their family was able to get a health insurance. Using simple ingredients like soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, cornstarch, and water, their profitable livelihood grew.
The whole family gave their effort in this business. In fact, each of them has a role to portray. Ritchie, the family’s head, takes orders and packs the products. His wife, on the other hand, is the one who designs the labels.
Miel, his second child, was the one who labeled the bottle. She is also in charge of the Facebook poster designs, while the eldest child is in charge of the business’s expansion.
They eventually had their first business expansion. Miggy created Manong’s Tusok Tusok kiosks, which are available for rent. Their product is also available in malls and on online shopping apps like Shopee and Lazada.
