JRU: “A separate internal inquiry of the matter will be conducted consistent with the university rules and regulations.”
JRU – Jose Rizal University said that the school will conduct an internal inquiry on the incident involving John Amores.
To recall, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has banned Amores indefinitely following his rampage during a game against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
Jose Rizal University has also handed Amores an indefinite suspension for his actions in the basketball game.
On Wednesday, JRU Management Committee representative Paul Supan announced the suspension, specifying that Amores will not play for the remainder of the NCAA Season 98 basketball games and will not participate in team practices.

Supan added that the school will conduct an internal inquiry of the said incident separate from that of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, but promised to cooperate fully with the league’s own investigation.
He stressed that the school doesn’t condone any form of violence and extended his apologies for the events.
“We apologize to the whole basketball community, particularly to our NCAA family for this incident. Violence has no part in the sport of basketball, and as a member of the NCAA, we shall continue to uphold the highest ideals of collegiate athletic competitions,” Supan said.
The basketball game between JRU and Benilde was stopped at the 3:22 mark of the 4th quarter after Amores charged the Benilde bench and threw punches at several Benilde players.
According to a report, Amores has been suspended indefinitely by the league while 10 other players from JRU and 3 players from Benilde have been suspended at least 1 game due to the said incident.
