Here’s the message of Jam Magno to PNP chief Azurin
JAM MAGNO – The social media influencer gave a reminder to PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin following his remarks on criminals.
This is after the PNP chief told reporters in a press briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City that they do not need to threaten criminals.
“Some are insinuating that some (criminals) have to die. But my point of view is that when you kill a criminal, we just ended the suffering at the very instance,” said Azurin.
Azurin also made clear that the PNP, under his direction, will not alter its vigorous pursuit of criminal elements through both preventative measures and effectively solving crimes while simultaneously protecting their lives.
While Azurin emphasized that all police officers have the right to self-defense when criminal elements put their lives in danger, it is unacceptable if the police initiate the killing.
His remarks generated opinions of well-known personalities and folks on social media.
In a statement, Jam Magno reminded the current PNP chief that their job is to fight the bad guys and not to take care of them.
“You are making the PNP look like a joke. And God knows your image needs a lift!” she said.
She believes that it lowers police morale if their leader is soft when it comes to fighting the bad guys.
“Lift up the police force by setting an example that the Philippines need now-a police force that needs to be feared by bad elements,” she stressed.
Azurin has not commented on the criticisms he has been receiving on social media.
Meanwhile, former PNP chief, Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa said that he respects the style of the current police chief.
